High School Trigonometry will help to develop the student’s mathematical concepts, improve logical thinking, and help to promote success. The course is offered for the students who desire to continue their study of mathematics beyond the basic graduation requirements. The course is designed for the students who wish to continue their education beyond high school in those fields that require a solid background in mathematics. The first few weeks will be spent reviewing math skills necessary for success on college entrance exams. Students will then study relations, functions, graphs, trigonometry, polar coordinates, complex numbers, limits, and derivatives. The student will analyze and graph mathematical functions. There will be emphasis on proving and verifying trigonometric identities using all of the basic trigonometric identities. Students will be introduced to graphing calculators in activities that are appropriate to the topics being studied.
