I spent K - 12 at Caddo Public Schools. After graduation, I went to Southeastern and met my husband John. We were married in 1997. After we had our daughter in 1999, I decided to go back to Southeastern. I graduated with a degree in elementary education. It was one of the best decisions that I have ever made.
I have been at Rock Creek for 18 years. My first year, I was an aide in the special education department and high school. This is my seventeenth year teaching. I taught third grade for 11 years before moving to fourth grade. I love teaching fourth grade!! This is the only place I have ever taught. There's no place I'd rather be! In 2010 and 2012, my collegues voted me Elementary Teacher of the Year. I am very proud to have this honor bestowed upon me!
I have family from this area. I feel like most of my childhood was spent in Bokchito. My grandparents lived, until their deaths, in Bokchito. I spent many summers with them. My husband went to school here in Blue. He was part of the last graduating class of Blue. My in-laws still live in Blue. So, I have a really special place in my heart for this area.
Our daughter Lyndsey is 21. Our son Marcus is 13 years old. He is in the eighth grade this year. He loves playing basketball and Ps4. It's very hard to believe that my kids are growing up so fast! Lyndsey and Marcus are my greatest gifts from God!!
I love teaching! I love spending time with my family. We love fishing and spending time on our little farm with all our animals. We also enjoy watching all sports! We are huge fans of Dallas Mavericks, OU, and of course Rock Creek Mustangs!!! John loves the Dallas Cowboys........me not so much!!!! I LOVE the Green Bay Packers!!!!! :) God has blessed my family and I so much!! I feel fortunate and blessed to be a part of this school district. The kids are amazing, and my co-workers are both wonderful teachers and friends!
